Job Overview
Spirit Construction is currently seeking an Industrial Construction Project Manager. The Project Manager will work with the Site teams and Client Project Management to ensure successful project completion. In order to uphold relationships with the Site Team and the Client, this position would require travel 20 times a year.
Responsibilities and Duties
Project Manager Candidate requirements:
Familiar with Industrial Construction: Pulp and Paper preferred; but not required
- Heavy Civil
- Conventional Structural Steel
- Process Piping
- Process Mechanical
- Electrical and Instrumentation
Job tasks to include, but not limited to:
- Support and promote site safety
- Control of office staff
- Control of all of the work on site
- Adherence to the project schedule
- Review and approve the labor requisitions from the field
- Review and approve material requisitions
- Construction support of the checkout tasks
- Review daily pipe progress report
- Review tracker / schedule
- Establish daily report for Spirit home office
- How many employees on site
- How many hours worked by craft
- How many LF of pipe installed by area
- Overall PI by craft based on planned value and earned value
- % Complete by area
Additional Responsibilities:
- Must have expert experience reading construction drawings: general arrangements, isometrics, P&ID’s, spool sheets, etc.
- Critical Path Method (CPM) logic
- Detailed identification of procurement and construction activities; including those of subcontractors
- Weekly detailed schedule update; status, deviations, critical issues
- Project % complete curve (baseline plan)
- Actual % complete
- Forecast % complete
- PPI – Period Productivity Index
- CPI – Cumulative Productivity Index
- SPI – Schedule Performance Index
- Back up schedule files in a timely and organized manner
Qualifications and Skills
Technical Skills Required:
- Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Projects, Word)
- P6
Additional Attributes:
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage and organize large amounts of data
- Ability to travel throughout the continental United States
- Must be able to work from project location for durations of 6-18 months
